Body composition and functional capacity in patients with Crohn's disease using Infliximab

Rationale: the use of anti-TNFα therapy, such as Infliximab (IFX), in patients with Chron's disease (CD) can lead to changes body composition. Objective: evaluate composition and functional capacity CD. Method: Cross-sectional study CD clinical remission using IFX. For anthropometric evaluation, it was measured: weight, height waist circumference; by hand grip strength test bioelectric impedance. After that, fat-free mass index fat were calculated. Continouns variables analyzed Pearson or Spearman coefficient. multiple linear regression model, time IFX used a dependent variable circumference, index, phase angle handgrip independent variables. Results: forty-three evaluated, an average 43.1± 13.5 years age. Of total, 44.2% overweight had increased 58.1% classified high very mass, 30.2% below adequacy parameter for 11.6% reduced capacity. Conclusion: overweight, well circumference fat, is common Infliximab. Most preserved capacity, however there wasn’t association
